Magnifi FinTech AI Startup - Intelligent Investing Information

ROLE: Dir of Product Management (Fractional, while part of Forte Group)

SITUATION:

Magnifi hired Forte to improve its primary product. Specifically, by improving the ability for its customers to upload portfolio data (to better “feed” it’s AI).

ACTIONS:

  • Was the lead Product Consultant, to provide guidance during the Sales process.

  • Oversaw the Discovery Process, to better understand Magnifi’s states and actual needs

  • On-boarded the Forte Product Owner, who would own the product backlog and manage the day-to-day relationship and act as coordination point with Forte’s engineering team.

RESULTS:

  • Launch first major Release from our development team in 1/2 the time initial promised to Magnifi (Client).

  • This equated to 1/2 the costs to Client

  • Dramatically exceeded Magnifi’s expectations vs. the primary Success Metrics that we defined together as a team (usage and new portfolio data acquisition).

  • All of these results were possible because of the Product Management best practices that I helped to create and implement (with an exceptional group of people) at Forte Group.

ROLE: Practice Head, Digital Insights (Full time)

SITUATION:

comScore hired me to stand lead a Consulting Practice for Custom Market Research, using comScore’s huge behavioral research panel, statistically representative of the Global Internet.

ACTIONS:

  • Led a team of 5 Research Consultants

  • Defined my team’s Sales Strategy (“Big Game Hunting”), with direct ownership of key strategic accounts, including Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Symantec and others

RESULTS:

  • Grew the Technology and Retail Digital Insights consulting practice 15 fold. to $4 million

  • Productized comscore’s Digital Competitive Analysis, where we could uniquely provide accurate Market Sizing and Competitive Sales insights.

Max Digital Automotive Pricing Analytics & Inventory Management SaaS

ROLE: VP of Analytics (Full Time)

SITUATION:

I was hired to own and manage the vast amount of digital automotive data owned by Max Digital, including online pricing and inventory data, industry ranking data (JD Power, etc), dealership inventory and sales data, and more. In particular, I worked directly with strategic, multi-billion dollar clients like Penske and Hendrick Automotive, to optimize their Used Cars Operations.

ACTIONS:

  • Led custom data analytics for strategic Clients such as Penske and Hendrick Automotive

  • Supported Product Management and Engineering, to incorporate and continuously improve pricing and inventory algorithms core to our B2B software

RESULTS:

  • Identified a new multi-hundred million dollar market opportunity of “College Cars” for our Clients, through analyzing used inventory and sales data across multiple dimensions

  • Launched new algorithm that power popular new “red-, yellow-, green-” light pricing feature

  • During automotive industry downturn, our Dealers, on average, grew sales by 3% and revenue by 5% over 12-month period where industry sales and revenues were down by 10%, on average
